It doesn't even matter if you burn down all their support buildings, they can still recruit the same 'special' spectres and monsters regardless and it's mind-numbingly boring fighting the same freaking units every single battle. In the end, yes, ok, you will beat the VC by just doomstacking them once you move all your armies from the other side of the map, but it's so cheap that they can do this so easily. Eventually this will start grinding you down and you have to retreat. Kill that whole army and next turn another general will be back again with the exact same composition.
It was then that I found out with my fully elite cav and infantry army that you can literally force the AI back to only having Drakenhof and then get stuck there turn after turn as you slowly advance raiding stance fighting a full stack every turn of junk infantry + RoR monsters. My human opponent was playing Dwarfs and turtling behind the VC kingdom. Playing as the Bretonnians in an online Versus game and I find the AI Vampires really showcase how weaksauce and cheap the 1 turn Regiment of Renown recruitment is, particularly when combined with Raise Dead.
